I’m the type of person that gets obsessed with certain lipstick shades and then forgets about all the other lipsticks I have. But, my goal is to start wearing some of the different lipsticks I own that are not nude, marsala, or vampy colors. This is me being lipstick adventurous.
Lady Danger is a well known lipstick from MAC that’s a gorgeous orangey-red shade. I don’t wear this shade enough because I feel like it doesn’t suit me that well, but I love this when applied lightly as a stain. The formula is matte, but it’s not super drying on the lips. It is also very pigmented so you really just need one application.
NARS Schiap used to be my go to hot pink lipstick about three years ago. It was my first high end lipstick that wasn’t from MAC, and it was extremely well loved. I haven’t worn this shade in a long time, but I need to, especially during the summer!
The MAC Viva Glam Nicki lipstick has a satin finish, and it’s extremely pigmented. This is a pinky coral shade that really is beautiful, and I’ve recently fallen back in love with it. The only downside to this lipstick is it’s availability since it was limited edition. My favorite way to wear this is to use a lip brush because it adds a nice soft wash of color.
Pink Nouveau is part of MAC’s permanent line, and it’s an extremely popular shade as well. It’s a very wearable mid-toned pink that goes with every makeup look. It’s one of those staples that everyone should have in his/her collection because it’s such a beautiful day time color.
Please Me is a light-medium pink from MAC that’s also part of their permanent line. It has a matte finish, but it is pretty creamy so if you love creamy lipsticks this one is a good option. This is another everyday shade that I think should be a staple in everyone’s collection.
Sweet Experience is another permanent MAC lipstick shade, and it is a beautiful baby bubblegum pink with an amplified finish. This is a beautiful color, but it’s definitely out of my comfort zone. It is a gorgeous shade for spring though so I’m going to have to wear this more often.
Viva Glam Nicki 2 was the second color from Nicki Minaj’s collaboration with MAC. This shade is unlike anything I own or have seen. The color is a baby lilac that is very pretty, but it makes my skin look very yellow, which is why I don’t wear it too often. I used to love wearing this a couple years ago when I first got it and used to apply a darker color around my lips then put this in the center. This is definitely a shade that I purchased just to have in my collection (plus I used to love Nicki), but I want to figure out different ways to use this more often.
Last is Up The Amp, which is another color from MAC, but it’s part of their permanent collection. This has a satin finish so it is pretty creamy on the lips. It’s a purple shade with cool pink undertones. You really only need one swipe for it to be completely opaque. This color may not be for everyone, but it’s a pretty shade, and great for changing up your makeup look from time to time.
I know this post was MAC heavy, but I do tend to buy most of my lipsticks from MAC because they have the best matte lipstick range. Another goal of mine other than being lipstick adventurous is to buy more lipsticks from other brands and try out different finishes.
