5 Red Lipsticks That Will Last Through Christmas Dinner

If you ask me, eating a meal while simultaneously trying not to smear your red lipstick all over your face is an olympic worthy task. It ain’t easy, people. Luckily, some lipsticks are more likely to endure the copious amounts of mashed potatoes, stuffing, mulled wine, and pie you’re likely to devour in a short amount of time.

Stila

Beso is my go to red liquid lipstick because it’s just so smooth, creamy, opaque and comfortable on my lips. My lips aren’t wrecked after wearing the Stila lippies, which is a big thing for me. [Available at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Dillard’s, Ulta, Urban Outfitters, Revolve, and Boots]

Jouer

The Jouer lip cremes are another favorite of mine. They’re very comfortable and apply smoothly, don’t feel dry, and basically feel like you’re wearing nothing on your lips. Fraise Bonbon, Cerise, and Brique  are three of their matte red lipsticks that are my favorite. They do leave a stain behind as they fade so it isn’t obvious even if they fade a bit during dinner. [Available at Nordstrom, Dermstore, and Cult Beauty]

MAC

The first lipstick is a cult favorite, Ruby Woo. This lipstick, as you may know, is very drying as it’s part of their retro matte collection, but boy does it last long and fade nicely. It is very dry so make sure your lips are properly prepped for this one. If you prefer a liquid lipstick because they tend to last longer, I suggest trying Dance With Me. It’s very opaque, creamy and applies smoothly. This can be on the drying side so definitely make sure your lips aren’t flaking at all. [Lipstick available at Nordstrom, Dillard’s; Liquid lipstick available at Nordstrom, Dillard’s

Keep in mind, these lipsticks will fade a bit. I mean, you are eating. And, if you’re eating anything greasy then the chances of fading are even higher. But, these are my go to long lasting red lipsticks that will last through Christmas dinner. The hardest part is narrowing down which one to wear.

  • I hate when my lipstick gets all over the place when I’m eating. Liquid lipsticks are definitely the way to go! And what better color for Christmas than red? ;)

    Mili | Sharmtoaster

    • Haha liquid lipsticks are the only lipsticks that don’t get all over my face when I’m eating.

      • And even sometimes those still get on my chin and teeth XD

  • Is it just me but when you eat, do you ever find lipstick on your chin? Happens to me all the time, haha!

I’ve read many great things about Jouer, the packaging looks pretty sleek too, very minimal. The shades you selected look fabulous, I want them all along with their metallics!

    • Omg I get lipstick on my chin all the time lmao! Definitely try the Jouer ones. They’re beautiful :)

  • These all look so pretty. I definitely need to get my hands on some. I love that shades are more of a deeper red, I find true reds don’t really suit me. I plan in wearing Jeffree Stars Designer blood, its a stunning shade xx
