It seems I’ve been having a lot of no makeup days recently. But, I always want something on the lips. Be it a balm or a gloss, I like the feeling of having something, and these are the lip essentials I’ve been putting my trust in.
The No Makeup Day Lip Essentials
My go to lip balm is the Complex Beauty Vanilla Lip Mask. It’s super moisturizing and I love the packaging. I’ve had to say RIP to a lot of lip balm tubes because they have burst in my purse, but not this guy. I love the packaging and the fact that it comes with an airless pump, making it super hygienic as well. When I want something nourishing but slightly glossier, I’ve been turning to either the Kopari Coconut Lip Love*— it’s super moisturizing, but leaves my lips looking very glossy and luscious without being thick and sticky– or the Glossier Lip Gloss, which is officially permanently part of their line, and I’m so happy. Don’t forget to check out my review of the lip gloss and to shop with me through my page. You’ll also save 20% if it’s your first time shopping Glossier, and they’re launching in the UK this year so make sure to bookmark it for that discount ;).
If I want some color, but nothing super intense, I turn to the Herbivore Botanicals Coco Rose Lip Tint and Noto Botanics Multi Benne Tint*. I expected the Herbivore tint to be more red toned when I ordered it, but it’s still lovely on the lips and feels nourishing. The Noto Botanics tint is slightly more red toned, but it pulls a little orange on my skin tone. Another go to, which you already know about because I talk about it a lot is Glossier’s Gen G lipstick in Crush. One layer will give your lips a light wash of color, but you can build it up to make it more intense. You CAN have it your way with this guy.
One of the fancier lip products I turn to on no makeup days is the Dior Lip Maximizer. It’s essentially a clear gloss that leaves your lips tingly, and plumps them ever so slightly. Nothing crazy noticeable, but it does do a little something something, you feel?
