I hate talking about makeup products I regret buying because I’d rather focus on products I love, but I think it would be beneficial to talk about products that didn’t work out for me in case you have similar tastes.
I picked up the shade 355 Coconut, which is the darkest shade in the range, because I wanted to use it as a cream bronzer/contour. It is a gel formula so it’s creamy and blends very easily. The reason why I regret buying this is because even if I set it with a powder, it doesn’t stay put on my skin. It turns into a muddy glob of bronzer all over my cheek– not a good look!
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer |
I don’t hate this concealer, and it’s not that bad, but it’s not my favorite because it is quite thick so it can crease even if you set it with a powder. It does have good coverage though so it’s a bit of give and take. Would I rather have picked up another concealer? Yes, but I’ll definitely use it up.
As much as you want to love a product, sometimes you just never reach for it. I was really excited when I got this, but have to say I barely use it because it comes in a jar that is messy and time consuming to use. I like concealing/brightening products that come in a pen form or have some sort of applicator so they’re quick to use. That’s why I opt for my MAC Prep + Prime Highlighting Pen in Light Boost instead and that’s also why this just sits in my drawer unloved.
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil |
I picked this up a long while ago before I had tried any other brow products. The formula of this pencil is way too creamy so you end up using so much product, and it smudges throughout the day. I personally like a more waxy brow pencil so you can mimic brow hairs better. Plus, it’ll last you longer, and won’t smudge everywhere. On top of that, the shade range isn’t the best. I picked up Deep, but the color is really gray toned and looks unnatural.
Becca Radiant Skin Creamy Concealer |
I love Becca products, and over the last year it’s become one of my favorite brands, but this concealer really made me have a WTF moment. Literally, imagine me sitting at my vanity, excited to use this concealer for the first time, and insert that typical record scratch sound effect when I try applying it and me saying “WTF” because that is basically how it all went down.
I love concealer pens with brushes so when I saw this on Hautelook for half off, my impulsive self had to have it. I mean, it’s Becca, so I didn’t even bother reading any reviews or anything before snagging it up. It’s Becca. It has to be good. WRONG. As harsh as this may seem, it’s the worst concealer I’ve ever used. It’s so thick that it just globs up into the brush and makes the brush stiff so you can’t even apply it. If you somehow can apply this under your eyes, don’t even think about being able to blend it out. I can’t even bother with this product. LOVE Becca, but nope… just no.
