Random Facts About Me

1. I was born in Bellevue, Washington and still consider it to be my true home. We used to go to Lake Washington all the time and pass by Bill Gates’ mansion all the time. Goals. Seriously.
2. I’m a cloudy, overcast weather kinda gal.
3. I have been obsessed with learning about serial killers, and criminals in general, ever since I had to read Helter Skelter and In Cold Blood in school, and went on a school field trip to the county jail. Yes, it was a field trip for my sociology class. No, I’ve never been to jail (and I don’t plan on it :)).
4. Potterhead for life. My Patronus is a king cobra 🐍
5. I was involved in a freak accident while visiting my aunt in Dubai when I was 5. A metal rod went halfway through my thigh when I was alone at the apartment playground with my 6 year old cousin. I ended up getting a lot of stitches and forever have a Nike shaped scar. Just do it? ✔️
6. I have a hard time opening up to people, which is why I don’t have a best friend(s).
7. I’m not a religious person at all (much to the dismay of my fam). I did take a class in college all about the Ten Commandments. It was really interesting, but not for me.
8. I really want to know if aliens are real. Outer space is so interesting.
9. If a show/ movie/ book/ anything is about witches, I’m all for it.
10. I wear mostly black/ dark colors. I feel weird in bright colors.
11. I recently became allergic to shrimp and it’s quite devastating.
12. I suffer from RBF so people always think I come off as a bitch or that I’m snooty before they know me. I like to think I’m nice 😇
13. I don’t like wine. I’ve tried it so many times in hopes of finding one I’d like, but no such luck. I’ll still drink it though 😂
14. I’m 5’8″ which makes me taller than my older sister, mom, aunts, most of my uncles, and most of my male and female cousins… on both sides of my family 😁
15. Even though I was born in Washington, and spoke English fluently, I was put in ESL for a day during elementary school when I moved to Texas. It still annoys me to this day 😂🙄
16. Large crowds give me major anxiety
17. I went to middle school with Demi Lovato. She was the mean girl, not the other way around.
18. I really wish I could have a pet llama, otter, wolf (preferably a direwolf), and fox.
19. I want to travel the world. I really want to go to Abu Dhabi, Morocco, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Colombia, Bali, Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Italy, Iceland, Ireland, Germany, Russia… Everywhere really!
20. I am actually disgusted and repulsed and disappointed that Trump/Pence won the election. Not because they’re Republican, but because they’re sexist, homophobic, racist, and perpetuating the idea that it’s okay to treat other humans inhumanely simply because they are not white, male, conservative Christians.

Tell me something about you! I want to get to know you too :) Let me know in the comments below!

  • I really enjoyed reading about you. ;) I agree with your opinion about Trump, I can’t believe he actually won. And if I became allergic to shrimp, I would probably die. :D

    Michelle Morchella

    • Hehe thanks girl! I still can’t believe he won either. So heartbreaking. And ugh, I know. I love shrimp so I’m so sad!

  • Great post Nida! So nice to read more about the person behind the blog.

    • Thanks girl! I never know if these types of posts are even interesting to others lol!

  • Loved reading this and getting to know you better! I can relate to so many of these. Starting off with the RBF, haha. All of my friends say I have it and they thought I’d be mean before actually getting to know me lol. I had an intense conversation with my friend the other day about aliens. I really want to know if they exist too (they must, right?).

    • Yess! All of my friends are like you did not look friendly lmao. Girl, I think they really do. There has to be something out there. Maybe not green martians, but something!

  • I love posts like this, they’re such a great way to get to know each other! Loved reading through your answers!

I love posts like this, it’s always so nice to get to know other bloggers better. That accident sounds awful, though at least your scar is in a cool shape, hehe. I want to travel to lots of the places on your list too, especially Iceland

    Steph – http://www.nourishmeblog.co.uk

    • Yess I wanna go to Iceland so badly! It was pretty traumatizing haha but luckily I was really young and don’t remember the pain, just the freaking out that ensued after lol!

  • Ms Tantrum

Great knowing u a bit better. You seem very interesting Nida. Your weird accident gave me goosebumps but the scar is powerful and positive 💚.

    • I always think I’m quite boring so thanks hehe 😜. It’s definitely a weird accident to happen lol.

  • The fact that you had to take ESL class bothers me, it just screams racism, especially in Texas (sorry)…I am a Christian but more on the progressive side and am pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. There are a lot of us who can’t stand Trump and everything he and the white Evangelicals are for!

    • Oh girl yes. I was like 10 when I moved to Texas and even then I noticed the difference between the kids in Seattle and Dallas. Southern hospitality is not what I experienced especially because 9/11 happened about 6 months after I moved here. It bothers me still, but that’s Texas for ya! Luckily Dallas is more progressive, but I live in a suburb which is like 95% middle aged/ senior citizen white, republican conservatives so there ya go lol

  • Samileen

Loved reading this. I always find these kind of post fun. And I agree with you on about Trump, such a disappointment. Also, I’m petrified of large crowds and its makes me so uncomfortable that people think I’m a totally rude person haha.

  • Loved reading this! It’s always nice to get to know more about the person behind the blog! xx

  • I really enjoyed reading more about you! How odd that you suddenly became allergic to shrimp! I’d be pretty sad. I’m so upset about Trump becoming President. It feels like a practical joke that’s gone on way too long. I can believe Demi Lovato was a mean girl, but it’s still a bit disappointing when famous people turn out to be mean (which is most of the time).

    • Apparently adults can develop allergies, and I’m so upset because I love shrimp haha. It really does feel like a practical joke that Trump won. People can never believe that Demi was a mean girl lol. She was such a bully to several people.
