Another month has gone by, and it’s finally October– my favorite month! This month you will find me rewatching Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and Casper on repeat, but before we get into that, here are my September beauty favorites!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette

Of course, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette had to be in this month’s favorites. I’ve been using this a lot over the past few weeks when I received it, and I’m really glad I picked it up. Although I do think it is overpriced for the size, it’s a good palette to “taste test” lots of different products. I’ve done a review on the Hourglass Ambient Edit palette here if you want to read more and see swatches.

Morphe M501 brush

A brush I’ve really been enjoying is the Morphe M501 pro pointed blender brush. It’s been amazing for highlighting and contouring the cheeks. It’s a bit too large to use on the eyes, which is why I like to use it for other purposes. I wasn’t too much of a fan of contouring. I much rather preferred bronzing up the skin instead of contouring, but this brush makes contouring so easy, and it looks natural as well, which I prefer.

For skincare, I’ve been loving the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic. I did get this fairly recently– like a week ago– but I’ve fallen in love with it! I swear, I used this the night before I felt a pimple coming on, and it stopped it. It also leaves my skin feeling and looking clean and refreshed. I’ve waited so long for this to come to the States, and I’m so glad it has!

Another skincare product I’ve been loving is the one I received in my September BabeBoxx— the Meraki Botanicals Cleansing Rose Grapefruit Facial Oil. You use a couple drops of this and massage it into your skin to get rid of makeup, but I also use this to moisturize my skin. It’s supposed to help brighten dull skin and fade scars. Who doesn’t want that?

Lastly, I can’t stop wearing, and talking about, Essie’s Find Me An Oasis nail polish. If you’re into the almost white nail polish, you need this in your life! It’s a very pale, almost white, shade of blue. I’ve worn this several times throughout the month, which rarely happens! I generally always change up my nail polish on a weekly basis, but this has stayed on much longer.

  • The Morphe m501 is always sold out when I want it! And the Hourglass palette looks gorgeous, too bad I already have the smaller one with just the powders, otherwise I would definitely get it!

    • I just checked and it’s unavailable right now too. I hope they bring it back. It’s such a good brush!

  • I just got the Pixi Glow Tonic and can’t wait to test it out. I’ve heard so many good things about it so my expectations are high :))

  • That Morphe brush looks amazing! It’s now on my wishlist :)
I don’t think I can justify the Hourglass Palette since I already have 4 of the 6 shades.
    Great post!

    • I wouldn’t buy the HG palette either if I had 4 of the 6 shades! xx

  • I love the Pixi Glow Tonic! I’m really liking Morphe brushes now we have them in the UK :) I don’t think I’ll end up getting the Hourglass palette as I already have half the shades, but it does look lovely! xx

    • I’m so glad the Pixi Glow Tonic is now available in the States. I’ve waited so long for it lol!

  • I can’t wait to finally try the Pixi Glow Tonic! Ever since it became available here in the US my local Target is always out of stock so I’ll probably end up getting it online. I still can’t make up my mind about the Edit palette after I saw how small it was. I still don’t know if I’ll get it, but it looks stunning though!

    • I would order the Glow Tonic online because the bigger bottle is $29, but you get more than twice as much than the one available at Target and pixibeauty.com offers free shipping if you spend $25. I wish I had done that because the one at Target is so little and I know I’ll use up the little bottle quickly lol!

I would only get the Edit palette if you don’t have many HG powders/blushes and want to try them out. The good thing about Sephora is you can always return it if you’re not happy with it :)

      • Oh, I’ll definitely have to order it online then! I actually have the Hourglass powder palette, that is why I’m not sure if I should get the Edit haha :) They do have an amazing return policy, that’s very true!

  • Nikki

I have been eyeing the Hourglass palette for so long now, and because I’ve been seeing it so much, I think I need to get it now haha. I definitely want to try the glow tonic too! Thanks for sharing!

    • Haha I hope you like it when you get it! It is small, but a great palette :). The Glow Tonic has quickly become one of my favorite skincare products!

  • I recently picked up the Pixi Glow Tonic at Target (so excited it’s finally easily available in the US!), and I’m testing it out. So far so good, but I’ll need to use it more to really have an opinion of it. I’ve been lusting over the Hourglass palette but I think the size is deterring me, but I loved reading through your review of it. It may be a great way to get a good test of a lot of their products!

    • I know, I’m so excited that the Glow Tonic is available in the States as well!! I can definitely understand why the size of the Hourglass palette would deter you. I didn’t know it was going to be that small when I first ordered it. xx

  • Samileen

Oh wow that Pixi tonic is really the talk of the town I really need to check it out. That hourglass palette looks beautiful, I love their blushes, I need to try the original ambient powder.
