4 New Scents to Try

I’m ditching my high school/ college perfumes for something a little more grown.

4 New Scents to Try

I still love my Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy perfume (talk about a t h r o w b a c k), but I’ve been wearing that since I was around 15. Next year marks my 7th year out of high school (wtf I still feel like I’m 17) so I think it’s time to let it go once I finish up the last of my bottle. I’m also ditching my college scent, which was Nick Minaj’s Pink Friday. Don’t judge me. Well, it’s okay. I judge myself over this one.

Now that I’m very close to becoming a quarter of a century old, I thought this stuck in her ways grandma should shake things up a bit and experiment with different scents. That is where these 4 feminine and sexy perfumes come into play. They’re much less “tween girl” and more “hey, I’m adulting” scents.

Byredo Gypsy Water

[Available at Barney’s, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges]
Packaging always gets to me, and that’s one major reason this bottle caught my eye. But, I’m happy to say that this not only looks good, but it smells great. The first time I spritzed this on me, I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. Pretty sure people thought I was weird doing all these odd maneuvers simply so I could sneak a whiff of my wrist in public without coming off odd. Don’t know if it worked. Anyway, this is very mysterious and sultry, and makes me think of a sexy, mysterious man wearing a suit, sitting in his old fashioned Beauty and the Beast-esque library smoking a cigar. It’s definitely a unisex scent so if you prefer something fresh, light, and girly then don’t go for this one. Pick this one up if you want something more masculine and earthy. It contains notes like bergamot, lemon, pepper, juniper berries, pine needles, amber and vanilla so it’s definitely complex and in no way shape or form resemblant of Viva La Juicy. I dig it.

Narciso Rodriguez

[Available at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom,  Lord & Taylor, Selfridges]
Again, packaging is what drew me in, but the scent is why I picked it up. The pink bottle is the eau de parfum and it’s more feminine and floral, but still sexy, and it contains notes like musk, iris powder, amber and rose. It’s powdery, but not in a bad way. The black bottle is the eau de toilette, and it has different notes like honey flower, orange blossom, vanilla, and vetiver so it’s more woody, earthy and darker, but still feminine. I want to try the white bottle next.. sorry not sorry.

Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede

[Available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges]
This one is perfect for everyday when you want something feminine and floral, but it doesn’t make you smell super young or too mature. It has notes like peonies, jasmine, rose, and red apples so it’s light and luxurious. A perfect daytime scent that will be especially great during the spring and summer.
