4 Shows to Binge Watch

Narcos

PABLO. ESCOBAR. Holy hell. I did not go into this show really having any expectations. I knew it was popular, but I did not think I’d get sucked into this as much as I did. It’s about 2 DEA agents trying to capture one of the most notorious drug lords in Colombian history. I just finished season 2 and I already cannot wait for season 3. I really love how they include real news reels and pictures into this series even though it is a dramatization.  [SPOILER ALERT] I am so sad that Pablo Escobar died! Obviously I knew going into the show that he would die, but the main reason I’m so sad is because I just really liked the actor who played Pablo. His acting was amazing. All the actors in this series are very good, and I’m so happy to see that Oberyn Martell escaped The Mountain and Cersei and is now a DEA agent battling narcos in Colombia.

Quantico

I started this show simply because I wanted something to watch in the background while I wrote blog posts, cleaned, etc. It explores the lives of agents going through government training to become FBI agents. In my opinion, the juxtaposition of the two plot lines focusing on the past and present is what keeps the story intriguing. It’s not something I would cry over if it ended, but it is a show that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next.

The Night Of

This is a mini 8 episode series that was very good. It’s dark, mysterious, and just overall really interesting. It reminds me a bit of season 1 of the Serial podcast, which I have listened to several times because it’s so heartbreaking, but intriguing. The Night Of is about a Pakistani American boy who sneaks out to go to a party, meets a girl, goes home with her and when he wakes up, he finds her stabbed to death in bed. [SPOILER ALERT] It follows his time in prison as he gets ready to go to trial. I really like this show, but the ending did leave me wanting, and was kind of devastating. But, that was probably the point.

Desperate Housewives

Oh how I long to live on Wisteria Lane. This is probably my favorite show ever. If you like drama comedies (dramadies?) then I highly recommend this show. Yes, it’s been out for ages so you’ve probably already seen it, but if for some reason you haven’t, then you should! I’ve rewatched this series a few times now, and it’s one that I always go back to. This show has a little bit of everything– wit, humor, murder, gossip, scandal, shootings, plane crashes.. literally everything. Bree Van de Kamp is who I want to be when I grow up.
