Now that we’re about midway through December (how crazy!) I thought I’d share with you all some lipsticks to try this holiday season. Can you believe 2016 will be here in just a few weeks? It’s crazy how quickly time goes by as you get older.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture #9 Rose Stiletto (Where to buy: US | UK) is a beautiful brown toned berry/rose shade that would look gorgeous during the holiday season. If you’re not into matte lips during the holiday, you’ll especially like this because it has a satin finish so it’s creamy and doesn’t dry out your lips. [Review here]
Tom Ford Black Dahlia (Where to buy: US | UK) is another favorite of mine and a super luxe lipstick you should try out if you want to splurge. It’s a darkened berry shade that is more on the vampy side. I received it last winter as a birthday gift, which is good and bad because now I am kind of addicted to the TF matte lipsticks. It is creamy and glides on beautifully opaque and smooth, while still matte, but it’s not drying. It’s more like a velvety matte finish, which looks and feels amazing. [Review here]
Red lips are a go to during the holiday, and the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in 04 Rouge in Danger (Where to buy: US | UK) is a beautiful deep strawberry red shade that has a glossiness to it. I generally don’t even like glossier lip shades, but this one stole my heart. [Review here]
Two liquid lipsticks to try out this holiday season that are really affordable are from ColourPop. More Better, which is a dark berry red, and Bad Habit, a deeper dusty mauve. Both of them have a thin liquidy consistency, glide on smooth and opaque and last about 5-6 hours before fading.
Something a little less traditional for the holiday season is Dose of Colors Stone, a cool toned pinky nude shade. Although it’s not your average holiday shade, it’s something unique and different that I think would look beautiful with a cool toned, silver makeup look. [Review here]
Another non traditional lip color to try this holiday season is the YSL Tint in Oil in 5 Cherry My Cherie (Where to buy: US | UK). This lip stain goes on pretty sheer and glossy, but soon the stain comes out to play and it’s a beautiful pinky cherry shade. Since this is an oil, it is a great option for anyone who needs a hydrating lip color. The stain lasts a good few hours before fading, and it’s great for layering. I’ll generally apply this while I’m doing my makeup then apply a lip liner on top and then a lipstick so even if the lipstick fades off, the YSL stain is still on my lips.
