Cream moisturizer for winter that won't clog your pores

5 Cream Moisturizers That Won’t Break You Out

It’s no secret that I love all things gel consistency. I find that gels make my skin more bouncy and supple. And overall they feel cooling and soothing on my skin– something my skin needs more often than not. But, sometimes gels aren’t enough and you have to bring in their creamier, more lush counterpart: cream moisturizers. They’re perfect for winter weather and these ones never clog my pores or break me out (I have blemish prone skin) so I hope they work the same for you!

5 Cream Moisturizers That Won’t Break You Out

I’m not going to lie. I’m always wary to try cream moisturizers because they can feel heavy. But, I do love to test and share so I thugged it out and tried all of these as nighttime moisturizers. Thankfully, my skin didn’t experience any adverse reactions like clogged pores or blemishes with any of them, and they’re moisturizers that I really like.

From how lush it looks in the jar, I was expecting the Dr. Roebucks FACE Anti-Aging Moisturizerto feel thick, but it’s not heavy at all. It has lavender oil, rosehip oil, Vitamin E, and macadamia oil, but it’s not greasy either. In fact, it feels very lightweight and you don’t need much to make sure your skin is fully moisturized and ready for bed.

One that I always go back to, and my skin craves, is Origins Night-a-MinsIt’s on the thicker side, but non-greasy, and I love the citrusy scent. It always makes my skin feel velvety and lush, which is why I go back to it time and time again. One that’s newer to my collection is Glossier’s Priming Moisturizer Rich*. The reason I opted out of this rich version for a long time was because I heard it was very rich. Yes, it’s thicker, but it’s not heavy or suffocating on the skin, but it is beautifully moisturizing. It has a really nice lavender scent so if that’s not your jam, this might not be your cup of tea.

I used the Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Creamdown to its last morsel of soft, lush moisturizer because I liked it that much. The consistency is different. It’s not that velvety, thick cream you generally think of. It has a more jiggly, spongy appearance, which sounds unappetizing, but it leaves the skin so soft and supple, and smells delicious like a minty dessert.

Last, is another one full of several oils, but doesn’t feel greasy or heavy: Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. Housed in a super sanitary push down pump jar, it’s moisturizing, and has a soft almost whipped formula (hence, the name). This one moisturizes, but isn’t the most moisturizing out of the bunch. If you have really dry skin, you’ll most likely have to go in with a second layer of this or mix in a couple drops of oil to boost up the hydration. Still, it leaves the skin soft and hydrated without being too much.
