5 Cult Beauty Products Worth The Hype?

5 Cult Classic Beauty Products Worth The Hype?

I can’t be the only beauty junkie that is constantly lured into buying beauty products that are raved about. Chances are that if a product is super hyped it, it will be mine. Even if I don’t try things right away (aka the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops that I’ve been holding out on), I eventually give in because a girl can only hold back for so long.

Are These 5 Cult Classic Beauty Products Worth The Hype?

Ben Nye Banana Powder

A few years ago this was probably the most hyped up product ever thanks to Kim K West and her makeup artist. This banana powder is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread if you’re trying to brighten and set the under eyes. I used to love this powder until I stepped outside one day and looked in the mirror. Low and behold I had a hideous mustard colored upside down triangle under my eyes. To say it was unflattering is putting it nicely. I haven’t used it ever since that debacle and I definitely won’t be using it again. So not worth the hype! I would much rather use the banana setting powder in the Marc Jacobs #instamarc duo in Mirage or the Wet n Wild Contour Duo in Caramel Toffee.

Anastasia Glow Kit

I have the Glow Kit in Sun Dipped. It looks really dark in the pan, but it is lighter when applied to the skin so it is still wearable. These really are worth the hype! You get a ton of product for the price. And, I like that you can mix and match the shades. I love the ombre packaging and that you can take the pans out or replace them as you use them up. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that I wish the packaging had a mirror. I don’t like how ABH doesn’t really give a mirror in their contour/highlighting palettes.

NARS Orgasm Blush

This has probably been the most hyped up blush ever. But, honestly you can do better. Is it a pretty blush? Yes! NARS blushes are really nice, and I do like this shade. But, I would much rather pick up another shade in their range or go for an Hourglass or MAC Mineralize blush instead of NARS Orgasm.

Too Faced Better Than Sex

If you’re into fluttery and voluminous lashes then definitely give this one a try because it is worth the hype. I wasn’t expecting to love this mascara, but something about it really makes the lashes look fluttery and it doesn’t clump up. I’m not a fan of spidery looking lashes on myself and much rather prefer fluffy looking lashes.

Makeup Forever HD foundation

I don’t know why it took me so long to try out this foundation because it really is amazing and worth the hype! It doesn’t feel or look heavy on the skin, it gives you a nice medium to full coverage and the shade range is really nice. I have a yellow undertone and it’s so hard to find a good one that matches that isn’t too light or too orange. The shade Y335 matches me so well!
