5 Super Popular MAC Lipsticks That Are Worth the Hype
I remember when MAC lipsticks were the jam. Almost everyone had handfuls of their lipsticks because 1) they’re great quality 2) not super expensive 3) have so many colors and finishes 4) the packaging! I don’t think MAC lipsticks are as popular as they used to be since so many new companies have upped their lipstick ranges and offer so many amazing colors and formulas, but there’s still something about MAC lipsticks that keeps pulling me back.
The quintessential red lip…
Has there even been a more popular lipstick than Ruby Woo? I don’t know. Because the second someone says Ruby Woo, you know they’re talking about this MAC lipstick. The second thing that comes to mind when you hear the name is how dry this retro matte shade is. There are dry matte lipsticks.. then there’s Ruby Woo. If you’re not used to matte lips, this one will be hard to get used to. But, the cool toned red shade is extremely beautiful and looks gorgeous on every single skintone. No wonder it’s so popular.
Dark like my soul…
Sin is the dark, vampy shade that is front and center on my vanity when fall rolls around. It’s a deep dark burgundy with a matte finish so it lasts all day. This shade can be a bit drying, but nothing like Ruby Woo. But, just like Ruby, it leaves behind a beautiful stain as it fades. Rebel is another shade that is a fall staple because it’s a gorgeous berry shade. This one has a satin finish so it’s very comfortable on the lips. It’s creamy and again, it leaves behind a gorgeous stain as it fades. I remember trying to buy this a few years ago during the fall season, and it was sold out at every MAC counter I went to so I had to do my waiting. But, it was worth the wait.
Give me neutrals…
If you’re a makeup junkie and haven’t heard of Velvet Teddy, I have a question for you– where have you been? This is another one of those super popular MAC lipsticks you recognize the second someone says the name without even telling you it’s a lipstick. This is one of my go to nude lipsticks because it’s a creamy matte rosy beige nude. It’s the kind of lipstick you put on on the daily because it goes with every makeup look and is just so easy and effortless. Twig is another neutral that’s more of a warm mauve, and another daily staple. This one has a satin finish so it’s very comfortable on the lips and gives them a little more color.
