The struggle was real as a tween. I was constantly pulling my hair out of what felt like tar on my lips. The Lancome Juicy Tubes (the regular ones and the Jelly ones) were uber glossy, and not for the faint of heart. Those things were S T I C K Y and put a bad taste in my mouth– pun intended– when it came to lip gloss. Side note: I don’t know why my mom was buying my sister and me Lancome lip glosses when we were 12 LOL.
Sure, I loved them as a 12 year old who was into super glossy lips and roll on glitter. It was cool back then, amiright? But, I veered toward the matte lip look once I really got interested in makeup. It was a matte lip or nothing. Ask me how I feel about glossy lips now and I’ll tell you I’ve joined the gloss gang. Give me glossy lips sans the sticky.

8 Non Sticky Lip Glosses Worth the Splurge
Buxom White Russian
I picked this shade up when I wasn’t even into gloss all thanks to YouTube and probably used it like 3 times. But, now that I’m into glossy lips it has been a go to, and I’ve picked up a couple more shades along the way. It feels cold and tingles on the lips since it has some gentle plumping properties, and I personally really love that about this.
Jouer Divine*
The Jouer lip glosses are really hydrating, glossy, and more on the sheer side. They contain Vitamin E, Shea Butter, and Jojoba Seed Oil so they’re really moisturizing. This sheer rose shade is just one of many from their range that I have been loving. I forgot to pack a lip balm on a recent trip (doh!) and heavily relied on this gloss for hydration.
Urban Decay Kinky
I swatched every single shade in this collection when I saw it in store, and picked up two. This shade is my favorite out of the two because it’s more on the nude side. It’s very pigmented, creamy, and glossy so you don’t really need a lipstick underneath if you want full on lip color.
Hourglass Truth
Another sheer rose shade that I have been loving. This is the only Hourglass lip gloss I own, but the formula is really beautiful. It’s more pigmented so you’ll get full pigmentation without needing a lipstick underneath.
Koh Gen Do BE403*
The Koh Gen Do glosses are also infused with lots of oils so they’re hydrating and give the lips a slight tint of color. This shade in particular is a light beige that I love to pair alone on natural makeup days or on top of their lipstick in the same shade for a bit more color.
Bare Minerals Cosmic
Bare Minerals just launched their Gen Nude Buttercream gloss collection, and I picked up a muted coral shade. This has been a lip gloss I reach for a lot recently because the muted coral shade really brightens up any look. It is more pigmented so you can wear this alone and you’ll be able to notice the color on your lips. I really like the wand on this because it’s slightly slanted so it makes applying it very easy.
Lorac Seductress
I don’t own many Lorac products, and I don’t know why because I love the few I’ve tried. Their lip glosses are so good and I don’t think they get enough love in the makeup community. They’re not super expensive, they’re glossy, pigmented, and very smooth.
Marc Jacobs Hey You!
This is my most recent gloss purchase and it was love at first swipe. Hey You! is a beautiful fuchsia cherry shade and adds a gorgeous pop of color to the lips. The formula of this is very smooth, pigmented, super shiny, smells like mint, feels tingly on the lips, which makes it slightly plumping, and the paddle shaped wand is very flexible so application is very seamless.
