Beauty Products Putting a Spring in my Step

Spring.

Fa la la la la. La la la la.

Spring makeup. What does it mean to you? To me, it means good skin + light makeup. Lots of dew; Lots of glow; Lots of highlight; Lots of sheer things, basically.

For good skin_

I’ve been turning to the Sunday Riley UFO oilIt’s a really great oil if you have blemish prone skin and need a little help clearing things up. I compared it to the Luna Sleeping Oil so you can read more on the difference there, but out of the two, I love UFO. Spring also means lots of hydration, dew and glow. For hydration, I’ve been turning to the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid because it’s super lightweight, but gets the job done for my combo skin. It’s great to use before makeup, and at night as a light hydrator before a thicker moisturizer if the latter is necessary.

I also love face mists, but especially in the spring/ summer. They’re a great way to beef up the moisture, and a great mid-day refresher. I love using the Complex Beauty Afterglow complexion mist before I apply SPF and makeup because it gives the skin hydration and a beautiful radiance. As a midday refresher I love the Pixi Vitamin Wakeup Mist*It really brightens up the skin and adds some moisture without disturbing my makeup.

_For the base

Lightweight is the way to go and for that I’ve been reaching for my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer again. It’s an oldy, but a goody that I always gravitate towards during the warmer months. To add a tiny bit more coverage, but still keep the dew, Glossier Stretch Concealer has been the one. It’s not something you’d like if you like a lot of coverage with a matte finish. But if you like a light wash, it’s a good one. It looks very skin-like and natural while adding just a slight bit of coverage.

For the glow_

It’s all about either the Milk holographic stick, Glossier Moonstone Haloscope, Chanel Soleil tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid or Becca Moonstone liquid highlighterAll four give the skin such a gorgeous sheen and glow. The Milk holographic stick is great when you want a little something extra terrestrial. Glossier’s Moonstone is my go to when I want a nourished looking dewy highlight, Chanel’s is perfect when you want a wet looking golden highlight, and Becca’s Moonstone is great when I want something a little more metallic and shimmery. They all layer gorgeously on top as well.

For the lips_

I’m still into a stain on the lips, and for that I’ve been loving Glossier Generation G in Jam. This gives the lips a soft berry stain, and you can easily build it if you prefer it to be more intense. I’ve also been reaching for gloss again and my all time favorite formula is from Marc Jacobs. I have one shade– Hey You— and it’s a gorgeous sheer cherry red. The other gloss that has constantly been on my lips is Glossier’s Lip Gloss. It’s literally just a clear gloss, but it’s so beautiful and super glossy. You know… it’s Glossier.
