BECCA Afterglow Palette Review

You know those purchases you make where you don’t really need something, but then you convince yourself you do need it by coming up with a few reasons as to why it may benefit your life? Well, that was this palette for me. One of my biggest enablers is Paula from Thirteen Thoughts and after seeing her gorgeous swatches and review of this palette, I decided I had to pick it up when it went on sale for Platinum Perk members at Ulta for $25. You guys, those sales really get to me.

The BECCA Afterglow Palette contains 5 permanent shades from their line:

Moonstone— pale gold Shimmering Skin Perfector
Rose Gold— rose toned gold Shimmering Skin Perfector
Topaz— golden bronze pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector
Wild Honey— peachy nude Mineral Blush
Flowerchild— peachy pink Mineral Blush with a golden sheen

The Good |

  • Compact
  • Easy to travel with
  • Pigmented
  • Apply smoothly
  • Blend easily

The Bad |

  • Pans are small
  • Won’t fit everyone’s budget ($39)

Although I have full sized versions of Rose Gold and Wild Honey, I thought this would be a good palette to pick up anyway because it’s great for travel and on those mornings where you need to do your makeup quickly.

All of the shades are pigmented, blend easily, and apply nicely so it lives up to the quality you’d expect from BECCA.

One downside to this palette is the size of the pans. I ordered this online and had never seen it in person before so when it arrived I was a little disappointed at first. Because the pans are small, you do have to use smaller brushes, but other than that it’s great!

The Verdict |

I would suggest this palette to anyone who hasn’t tried BECCA products before that way you can test out multiple products at once. I also think this is a great palette to pick up during any type of sale if you’re a fan of blushes and highlighters. All in all, this palette is really nice and I love the rose gold packaging!
