Brightening Color Correctors

It seems as though the newest trend in the beauty community is color correcting, and literally every brand known to man has recently released some sort of color correcting product.

I talked all about color correcting recently, but today I wanted to focus solely on brightening color correctors. Not everyone needs to color correct, but I find that most people want their skin to appear brighter and more fresh. So, even if you don’t have dark circles, blemish scars, or dark spots, etc. you’re trying to correct, brightening color correctors may be something you’re interested in, and I gotchu. These are my favorite brightening color correctors at the moment.

Yellow is great for brightening for warm skin tones, which is why the NYX HD concealer in Yellow has come in handy. The consistency is thinner than the other HD concealers I’ve tried from NYX, but it blends out nicely and brightens up the under eye for a more natural brightness.

The NYX HD concealer in Lavender is another product that brightens up the under eyes. The consistency of this one is thicker, but still thin and creamy so it’s easy to blend. This is more pigmented so a little goes a long way and then I like to top it off with a concealer so it’s not so lavender.

Pink shades are better for lighter cool toned complexions, but I find that even on my warm, yellow toned NC35 skin the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector works nicely and isn’t too pink, especially since you then apply concealer on top. It just adds a dew/glow to the under eye. However, I do think deeper complexions should stick to more yellow correctors because it will look more natural.

A shade that I never new existed until the Algenist Reveal Concentrated Color Correcting Drops released is a blue corrector. Blue is another shade that brightens up the skin. These drops are sheer so the brightness is very natural. You can either apply them directly wherever you want to brighten your skin and then apply foundation/concealer on top or you can mix a couple drops in with your foundation/concealer, whichever you prefer.

The Stila Correct & Perfect All-In-One Color Correcting Palette is a great option because it has your yellow, pink, and purple shades for brightening, but it also has your peach, orange, and green for color correcting. This way you can have everything all in one palette instead of so many single products.
