I am always on the hunt for a new foundation simply because I haven’t found “the one” yet. I get bored easily and just want to try something new so I’ve tried a good amount of foundations over the years. Today I wanted to talk about my current foundations and whether they’re worth buying.
Full Coverage |
IT COSMETICS CC+ CREAM ILLUMINATION. I really enjoy this CC Cream because it’s full coverage, but still lightweight and illuminating, and has really great ingredients. If you like something really illuminating then I would suggest giving this a go because it’s really nice. It is kind of sparkly swatched on the hand, but on the face it just adds radiance and doesn’t make you look disco ball-esque.
JOUER MATTE MOISTURE TINT. This foundation leaves the skin looking so flawless and even with a matte finish that doesn’t make the skin look dry and cakey. This is worth buying for anyone that likes a more full coverage base without the heavy feeling on the skin. The only downside to this foundation is the color range. I wish there were more shades and undertones available.
Medium Coverage |
NARS SHEER GLOW. If you like a lightweight, medium coverage with a natural satin finish, this is a good one. It’s not very glowy like the name suggests so if you like something super dewy and sheer then don’t go for this. This is perfect for normal to dry skin. If you have oily skin, I wouldn’t suggest this one.
KOH GEN DO AQUA FOUNDATION. [review here] I get lots of compliments on my skin whenever I wear this foundation. It’s lightweight, has a light- medium finish and doesn’t look cakey on the skin. If you don’t mind the splurge– a whopping $62 splurge– then this is a good buy, but it didn’t drastically change my life.
JUICE BEAUTY PHYTO-PIGMENTS SERUM FOUNDATION.* [review here] I’ve been enjoying this foundation because of it’s lightweight/serumy formula that has a medium finish. If you like something lighter with beneficial skin ingredients that still allows your skin to look like skin, give this one a try.
Light Coverage |
LAURA MERCIER TINTED MOISTURIZER. I had a tube of this back in the day when I barely knew a thing about makeup, but was getting interested (ah, to be young and new to makeup again). Now, it’s back in my collection and I’m really happy about it. I would definitely suggest this for anyone who likes a sheer base with SPF. It’s not greasy or oily so I do think oily skin types would love this as well!
DIOR NUDE AIR SERUM. This foundation is very lightweight because of it’s serum-like consistency and leaves the skin looking very natural, but it’s not an absolute must. If you have normal/combo skin and want something with a light coverage, this is a good one because it does the job, but I do think you could find something better.
