Skincare:

As much of a makeup junkie as I am, I’ve been focusing on my skin a bit more lately, and have opted for wearing less makeup on a weekly basis. It’s nice to go bare face and let your skin breathe once in a while. These products have really given my skin a glow and helped me out when my skin looks dull and lackluster.

Complex Beauty Afterglow Complexion mist

[Available on their website

I love facial sprays because they’re great little pick me ups for your skin. I’ve never found one that has blown me away until now. Sure, I’ve liked several, but this complexion mist is different. It has so many active ingredients like glycolic acid, lavender water, geranium essential oil, MSM (an organic form of sulfur, which is really good for acne prone skin), tamanu oil, carrot seed oil, and vitamin C just to name a few. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my overall complexion, and it instantly adds a glow and perks up the skin.

Complex Beauty Rose Glow Glycolic Mask

[Available on their website]

I was sent a sample size of this mask in their discovery kit, and I used it up rather quickly! I love their whole range of face masks so I went out and purchased their full set when they first launched because discounts always get to me (i.e I did not take my own advice when it comes to impulse shopping, but no regrets here!). I love all 6 face masks, but this one is way up there since it brightens, exfoliates, and adds a glow to the skin in just five minutes. They call this their five minute facial and I whole heartedly agree with that statement! Lazy girl skincare for the win.

 Sunday Riley Good Genes

[Available at Sephora, Nordstrom, Netaporter, Space NK]

If you’re feeling spendy, then try the highly raved about Sunday Riley Good Genes lactic acid treatment. Lactic acid is such a good ingredient to use when your skin is looking dull because it’s an alpha hydroxy acid. Basically, it gets rid of your dull, dead skin on top without any need for manual exfoliation. This also contains other ingredients like aloe, prickly pear, and blue agave so it’s not just straight up lactic acid.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%

[Available on their website]

This lactic acid treatment from The Ordinary is inexpensive and it includes hyaluronic acid so it keeps your skin moisturized, which also adds to the glow factor. Although it’s not a complete dupe of the Sunday Riley Good Genes treatment, it is a cheaper alternative that will save you a lot of money.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base

[Available at Sephora, NordstromLord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges]
I love using this face base (aka moisturizer) before makeup, on makeup free days, and even at night before bed. It moisturizes the skin and gives it a healthy, hydrated glow. Plus, the lemony scent is very refreshing in the morning and gives your senses a little pick me up as well.

Makeup:

Even though I’ve been focusing on my skin lately, I love using glowy makeup bits to add more glow on the days I opt to apply some makeup. The goal is to achieve that JLO glow. Or as I like to say, JgLOw.

Juice Beauty Illuminating Primer*

[Available at Ulta, Bloomingdales, Juice Beauty, Anthropologie]
I don’t talk about this primer enough, but it’s my go to on an everyday basis because it gives the skin a very soft, luminous glow. It’s very thin in formula, which makes it very lightweight and perfect before makeup application. (review here)

Marc Jacobs Undercover Perfecting Coconut Face Primer

[Available at Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Marc Jacobs
I’m running low on this little guy, and that makes me happy because I’m getting use out of it, but I’m sad because it is quite pricey. But, totally worth it because it hydrates the skin so nicely. I usually use this when I’m in a hurry or on days I don’t feel like moisturizing then priming since it does both very well. It doesn’t have any shimmer or sparkle, but it still gives your skin a glow because it’s so hydrating. (review here)

Lush Feeling Younger Skin Tint

[Available on their website]
This is another product I don’t talk about enough, but I love applying this on the tops of the cheeks before foundation. It adds such a gorgeous glow to the skin, and since it includes almond and jojoba oil, it is very nourishing and moisturizing. It’s also beautiful mixed in with your foundation or as a creamy highlight on top.

Becca Opal Poured

[Available at Sephora, Ulta, Space NK, Cult Beauty]
If I’m in the mood for a cream highlighter, this one tends to be my go to. I have several cream highlighters I love, but this one from Becca is number one. It’s the perfect color and formula– very creamy, never dry, and blends into the skin like butter.

Becca Opal Pressed

[Available at Sephora, Ulta, Space NK, Cult Beauty]
I love powder highlighters, and this is my most used. Again, it’s just the perfect shade for my medium skin tone, and a tiny bit goes a long way. You can achieve both a lit from within glow or you can pack it on for an intense you-can-see-me-from-space-aliens-come-and-get-me look. It’s out of this world (come on, I had to).

MUFE Pro Light Fusion Highlighter

[Available at Sephora]
I couldn’t choose between this and Opal so I had to include it. Again, I reach for this all the time when I want a more golden glow. The gel powder texture of this makes it untraceable on the skin so it never looks powdery or patchy, which is something that instantly turns me off from some highlighters.

Algenist Luminizing Drops*

[Available at Sephora]
I love a good liquid highlighter as well, and these luminizing drops from Algenist are great because you can straight up apply it as a highlighter for an intense glow or you can mix it in with your foundation if you want an all over glow.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid

[Available at Nordstrom]

I always hear people praising the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer, but never hear anything about this illuminating fluid, and I don’t know why. It’s such a gorgeous illuminator that gives you a sunkissed glow. I do wish it came with a pump, but I can forgive Chanel because the product itself is so stunning.
