The Full Slice |

The Bionic Tonic jar contains 36 single use pads saturated with the skin tonic, which you are directed to use daily for best results. It’s supposed to leave your skin looking and feeling radiant because it contains ingredients like green tea and cucumber extracts. It also contains PHAs (Polyhydroxy Acids), which are gentler versions of AHA’s, so this is suitable for sensitive and dry skin types since it won’t cause flaking, peeling or dryness.

PHA’s increase cell turnover, which reveals new, radiant skin by getting rid of dull, dead skin. They are humectants, so they attract water, which keeps your skin hydrated and reduces/prevents wrinkles. Gluconolactone, a key ingredient in this product that is a PHA, is an antioxidant that helps fight free radicals and protects the skin from harmful UV exposure.

I’ve been using this daily for the past week after cleansing my skin, and it does leave my skin looking and feeling more radiant, moisturized and smooth. I like that the pads are nicely saturated so once you swipe one all over your face, you can massage the product that is left into your skin. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and doesn’t dry out my skin at all, which is an even bigger plus considering it’s winter– a time my skin does get a bit flaky. I had some peeling on my nose that’s now gone thanks to this, which has been the only new addition to my skincare since my nose started peeling.

The scent of this is very soothing and spa-like because it smells like cucumber. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of cucumber scents, but this is actually pleasant and smells very relaxing. I like to use this at night after I cleanse the skin and then I apply my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye serum and EmbryoLisse Lait-Crème Concentré on top.

I know we have been conditioned to believe we need to steer clear of parabens, but it is important to understand that our skincare needs to be safe from bacteria, which is why parabens are added to makeup/skincare products to begin with. This product does contain methylparaben, but it is one of the last ingredients listed, which means they’re using a tiny amount.

Water, the first ingredient in many skincare items, is a breeding ground for bacteria and if preservatives are not added to keep your products bacteria free, it can be worse for your skin than a sprinkle of methylparaben. There are more natural preservatives out there, and parabens still aren’t AMAZING for your skin, but they’re much better than using skincare products contaminated with bad bacteria.

The Verdict |

I think this is a really good product that lives up to it’s beneficial claims. It left my skin smooth, moisturized, firm, and more radiant. I noticed a difference in the smoothness of my skin within a week so I’m excited to finish up the product. My skin still isn’t perfect, but that’s not going to happen over night and it’s something I’ve been working on, which is why I love trying out new skincare products. I think this is a great addition to anyone’s skincare regimen, but I especially love it at night right after cleansing. This product was created by two doctors who created and patented the first Glycolic Peel, which we all know is great for our skin, so that alone makes this product worth trying out.
