HASK Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection review

HASK Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection

I’ve been a long believer in the benefits of coconut oil for your hair so when I saw that HASK, a hair care brand that’s available at Ulta, had a shampoo and conditioner containing coconut oil, I was eager to try it out.

I’ve been using the HASK Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection*, which features their Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner and Monoi Coconut Oil Shine Treatment, for a few weeks now and have really been enjoying it!

The Good |

  • Moisturizes
  • Revitalizes
  • Leaves hair soft and smooth
  • Smells nice
  • Inexpensive ($5.99 each)
  • Gentle

The Bad |

  • Nothing!

Both the shampoo and conditioner are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors so it is gentle on the scalp, but still lathers nicely. If you’re afraid that a shampoo/conditioner featuring coconut oil is going to be heavy and greasy, don’t be because it’s not! These don’t leave your hair looking like an oily mess. In fact, the monoi coconut oil, which is pure coconut oil infused with Tahitian gardenias, only makes your hair soft and silky. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want that?

I’m not a huge lover of coconut scents, which is why I was a little wary about the shampoo and conditioner, but I’m happy to say it doesn’t smell that coconut-y. In fact, it has a pleasant smell with floral notes and it’s not overpowering.

Another thing I like about the shampoo and conditioner that is kind of random is that the shampoo packaging has a turquoise strip of color on it and the conditioner has an orange strip of color on it. This color difference on the bottle helps my blind self differentiate between the two bottles in the shower so I don’t have to constantly pick it up and read the labeling to make sure I’m using the shampoo when I’m trying to wash my hair and not accidentally using the conditioner– that has happened on more than one occasion. That little packaging detail is a positive one for me. It may be a detail that might usually be overlooked, but I personally appreciate it.

The Monoi Coconut Oil Shine Treatment is also free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors and it can be used on damp or dry hair. I like to apply a tiny bit when my hair is damp and then apply a tiny bit more after it’s dry so it adds a beautiful healthy shine. It also helps detangle your hair, which lord knows I need because long hair tends to easily become a tangled mess if it’s not brushed and taken care of. I hate to admit it, but in the past I may or may not have had to cut knots out of my hair once or twice… or thrice. Oops.

The Verdict |

These are great inexpensive products that I think are definitely worth checking out if you’re on the hunt for new hair care products. I really like all three products because they’ve left my hair looking and feeling soft and silky. Occasionally I like to put coconut oil in my hair so these only boost my scalp’s hydration, which in turn leaves my hair looking and feeling very healthy. If you’re trying to grow out your hair I would suggest trying the Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Care Collection because a moisturized scalp promotes hair growth!
