Almost every day I get compliments on how glowy my skin looks from my sister, my mom, and even from random women when I’m shopping for more makeup. Every time I get a compliment, in my head I whisper a little thank you to each and every product that helped me achieve my glowy makeup that day. I did not choose the thug glow life, the thug glow life chose me.
Lately, I’ve stepped up my highlight even more, and today I want to show you how I get an intense glow with makeup. Brace yourself, it’s about to get lit.

How To Get An Intense Glow With Makeup
Step 1: moisturize
Skin prep is major key and I have been living for the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. It costs a pretty penny, but it really hydrates the skin, gives it that hydrated glow, and allows primer and makeup to go on more smoothly. What was I doing before this face base? I don’t even know.
Step 2: prime
I did a whole post on primer recently so you know I think it’s an important step. My primer of choice as of late has been the Burberry Fresh Glow primer in 01. It’s so glowy, but doesn’t make you look like you just did the highlighter challenge. I like to apply this on the high points of my cheek bones, but who am I kidding? It ends up all over my face. I ain’t mad.
Step 3: use a base
Once your makeup is done, and before you set it with powder, apply a highlighting base. You can choose a liquid highlighter or cream highlighter. I personally have been using the Milk Makeup Face Gloss. A face gloss. I simply dab a tiny amount on the top of the cheek bones, cupids bow, and above the eyebrows. It gives the skin that editorial wet skin look. Living for it.
Step 4: set with powder
Once you have applied your base, go in with a powder highlight. I haven’t been able to put down the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo in 02. The highlight in there is s t u n n i n g and makes you look like a glowing goddess. The gel powder formula is untraceable on the skin so there’s no powderiness or chalkiness. It simply blends into the skin like buttah.
Step 5: spritz your face
Now apply a setting spray to really seal that bad boy in. I’m loyal to my trusty MAC Fix + because it really sets everything, feels refreshing, and the spritz doesn’t drown you. It’s a nice spa like mist that will enhance the glow.

The swatch seriously doesn’t do it justice because on the face it looks wet and glimmering like you just doused yourself in gold. Again, living for it.
