You know I’m going through a phase right now where I just want juicy, supple looking lips. I’m torn between my old love for matte lips and my burgeoning love for a glossy/shiny/nourished lip. My two YSL Oil-in-Stick lipsticks have been the most used shades out of my collection simply because you can swipe them and go in a jiffy, and your lips won’t end up feeling dry or dehydrated at the end of the day. Winning.
I picked up 43 Rose Rive Gauche, a sheer rose, and 47 Beige Blouse, a sheer beige nude lip. Both shades are perfect for everyday wear and go with so many different makeup looks. That is why I’ve been reaching for these most mornings when I just can’t be bothered to put a lot of effort into my makeup.
Juicy Lips for Summer with YSL Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks
THE GOOD | They have some gorgeous shades that are sheer, but pigmented, and perfect for a juicy pout during the spring/summer. The formula is a dream– creamy, smooth and comfortable on the lips. It’s made with 65% oils so you know it’s going to be nourishing.
THE BAD | They’re pricey at $37 a pop so unless you don’t mind dropping a shed load of money on lipstick at once, you can’t pick up 4 or 5 of these as you can with cheaper drugstore lippies ;). I can’t stop my need to buy more, though.. send help. Because they’re creamy they don’t last as long as a matte lip would, but I get a good 4ish hours wear out of them unless I eat and drink a lot.
THE VERDICT | If you’re a fan of natural, sheer, comfortable lipsticks, give these a go. You just can’t really go wrong with a YSL lipstick in my opinion. I have yet to meet a YSL lipstick I don’t love.
