I’ve been following Kathleen Fuentes, aka KathleenLights, on YouTube for years now and always love her product recommendations. I was excited to hear she did a collab with Ofra Cosmetics and created her own liquid lipstick that is appropriately named Miami Fever since she’s from there. I missed out on Miami Fever when it initially launched so I decided that when it came back with a limited release that I would pick it up for myself so I could ease my makeup lusting heart.

The Full Slice |
Miami Fever is a warm toned burnt orange/ rust shade that might not sound pleasing, but actually really is. I’ve been looking for a pretty dark/burnt orange shade for a while so I’m glad I was able to pick this up because the color is very satisfying. I didn’t think I needed this in my life at first, which is why I didn’t try to pick it up right away and missed out, but when I visited a Lush store in Austin a girl working there was wearing this on her lips and I flat out was like, “are you wearing Kathleen Lights Miami Fever on your lips?” She laughed, surprised that I knew, and said yes– that’s when I knew I had to have it!
This color literally looks amazing on every skin tone. The girl at Lush had a porcelain skin tone, and I’ve seen how beautiful it looks on medium and deep skin tones from pictures on Instagram. The formula of this liquid lipstick is almost like a mousse so you literally don’t feel it on your lips, and it’s not drying. The formula reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, but is more opaque and pigmented. Every time I wear this on my lips I forget that I’m wearing anything. This does dry down completely matte, but it’s not kiss proof. It does fade after about 5 hours, but that’s all dependent on what/how much you eat or drink throughout the day.
The Verdict |
I think this is a gorgeous color that is very unique. I have so many liquid lipsticks that are all very similar so this was a unique one to my collection, which is one reason I really like it. It is pricey at almost $20, and since it’s not readily available in stores I was a bit wary to try it, but if you use the code KATHLEEN40, you receive 40% off, which is a lot! I hear so many people say these are some of the best liquid lipsticks they’ve tried because they’re so comfortable so if you’re interested you should definitely check them out and use KATHLEEN40 for 40% off your whole order! I foolishly thought the promo code only worked for Miami Fever, but it works for the whole website!
