Koh Gen Do Review | What’s Worth Trying Out

It’s been about a year since I first heard about Koh Gen Do and their highly raved about Aqua Foundation. Since then, I’ve tried out a few other products from their range and thought I’d share with you all what’s worth trying out.

Koh Gen Do Review | What’s Worth Trying Out

The Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation is a nice foundation. It never gets cakey on the skin, makes the skin look natural, and provides a buildable to medium coverage. I do like this foundation, but as I said in my review, it’s just really expensive, and didn’t WOW me enough to want to repurchase it. If the price is no biggie to you, then definitely try this out because it is really nice! Their color selection is a bit lacking though. I’m in the darkest shade (143) and I’m a MAC nc35.

If you’re into illuminated skin then give the Aqua Foundation Illuminator* a chance. I have the shade IL01 and it’s a very beautiful golden illuminator. These are water based so they mix in with foundation nicely (as long as it’s oil free) and it looks very lightweight and smooth on the skin. I also like to apply this to the top of the cheeks when I want a beautiful, natural glow to the skin.

On the cheeks, I like a more natural looking blush because it’s really easy for me to go from zero to full on clown cheeks when a blush is really pigmented. The Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Cheek Color in OR02 Mandarin Orange* is very natural on the skin and gives just enough color to brighten up the cheeks. Even though this blush is orange, it’s not super crazy and still looks wearable on the cheeks. It’s especially perfect during the spring/summer. The puff applicator is very unique and makes applying the cheek color very easy, especially when you’re in a hurry!

When it comes to lips, I really suggest trying out the Maifanshi Lipstick and Maifanshi Lip Gloss. I have both in the shade BE403 Light Beige* and they’re the perfect every day lip colors. The lipstick is very moisturizing and creamy and the lip gloss is smooth, shiny and not sticky. They pair amazingly well together, but I also love wearing them on their own.

Their Cleansing Spa Water Clothsare some of the best makeup removing wipes I have ever used! The cloths are thicker, nicely saturated, and feel very soothing and spa-like on the skin. They feel so refreshing on the skin and are great at removing all your makeup. Of course, I still go in with a cleanser afterwards, but one of these gets almost all of my makeup off! I just ran out of these, which is why I don’t have a picture of them, but I’m definitely going to get them again!
