I’ve been purchasing a lot of new makeup lately, and as much as I love all my new babies, I don’t want to forget about my old ones. The following five products are the real OG’s — my day ones. These are my makeup oldies, but goldies.

MAC Studio Fix Powder | The Studio Fix Powder Foundation from MAC was my first ever powder/foundation. I started using this gem when I was 13 or 14 years old, and it has been a part of my collection since then. I don’t even know how many times I have repurchased this product. Granted, I don’t use it as often as I used to, but that’s because now I have so many other foundations. Still, this one will always have a place in my collection because putting nostalgia aside, this is a great product.
NARS Albatross | Before I really fell in love with highlighters, this was my one and only and my ride or die. Becca may have taken over my highlighter heart, but NARS Albatross will always have a special place. It’s a beautiful pale gold highlighter that is pigmented, but subtle once you blend it out — the perfect highlighter for achieving a gorgeous golden glow.
MAC Gold Deposit | This was another first for me. When I first began getting into makeup YouTube was not really a thing (goodness I feel old) and the online beauty guru video tutorials were rare or nonexistent. So, I didn’t know much about bronzing at all and didn’t have any makeup guidance when I first got into my love affair with it. YouTube beauty gurus might not have been around to help my young makeup-loving-self out, but the good old reliable MAC makeup artist was, and this was the bronzer they recommended for me. It is very shimmery and orange, but when used with a light hand it adds a radiance to the skin.
NARS Super Orgasm | Orgasm by NARS may be the cult favorite in the beauty community, but mine would have to be Super Orgasm. Super Orgasm, just like Orgasm, is a peachy pink blush, but Super Orgasm has large flecks of gold running through it instead of shimmer. So, if you like glitter then this definitely is one I recommend.
MAC Ruby Woo | This was my first ever red lipstick, and although I haven’t gone through tubes of this stuff yet, it is a favorite that has been and always will be a part of my collection. If you enjoy super matte red lipsticks then this color should already be in your arsenal, and if it’s not then you are missing out! If you’re not a fan of super matte shades then check out Russian Red. You can see a comparison between Ruby Woo and Russian Red here.
I know this post was very MAC and NARS heavy, but that’s because they were the brands that really started it all for me. MAC was the main brand that got me into makeup since it is good quality, yet still reasonably price, and back when I was 13-14 it was even more inexpensive.
