Nail Polishes For Fall That Aren’t Black

I’m all for dark nail polishes, especially during the fall, but sometimes black nails just aren’t satisfying and some color is needed. That is where these 6 nail polishes for fall that aren’t black come into play, and I’m obsessed!

Essie |

After School Boy Blazer— how cute is that name!– is a beautiful deep navy blue shade that literally looks black from afar, but is definitely more dark blue toned. Stylenomics, which was one of my must have green nail polishes last winter, is still a fall/winter favorite of mine. It’s such a beautiful deep and dark forest green shade that is very unique. If you want something that is a deep red toned nail polish, Wicked will be for you. It’s such a popular shade and I definitely understand why.

All of these shades need two coats to get them really opaque so they’re not patchy because the first coat is quite sheer and streaky. I wouldn’t say these are creme’s because a creme to me is opaque in one coat, but they do have a creme finish after 2 coats.

GlitterDaze |

The Back To Rad collection from GlitterDaze is my new obsession because it’s inspired by the 90s and it contains a lot of creme nail polishes, which is my favorite nail polish finish. Lewinsky (LOL) was inspired by one of the biggest presidential scandals in the U.S. during the 90s and is a beautiful deep red with brown undertones. This nail polish has a creme finish and is super opaque and glossy after two coats, and it’s not streaky or patchy at all.

Freak of Nature, which was my sister and I’s favorite “diss” when we would fight as kids, is similar to Stylenomics, but not really. It’s not as dark and is more a darkened moss shade; Stylenomics definitely looks more black. The formula of this is sheer with one coat, but not streaky or patchy, and by two coats you have an opaque glossy creme finish. I am currently wearing this on my nails with a matte topcoat on top, and love it!

Lincoln Park After Dark is probably the most iconic black, but not black, nail polish; it’s more of a midnight purple shade. OPI creme nail polishes are some of the best in my opinion because their formula is just so opaque and creamy in one coat, and I have an odd obsession with nail polishes that are super creamy.
