NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks left to right: Lace Detail, Push Up, Bedtime Flirt, and Embellishment

The NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Rundown

My lipstick drawer may be regurgitating lipsticks because I have way too many stuffed in there, but that doesn’t stop me from buying more…and more… (and more). That’s why it’s no shock that I had to try out the new NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks, which, on the bright side, are budget friendly! So keep reading for the NYX Lingerie liquid lipstick rundown.

I didn’t go too crazy and only picked up four shades. *pats self on back*

Lace Detail — nude pink beige

Push Up — brownish pink

Bedtime Flirt — cinnammon pink (My favorite!!)

Embellishment — muted purple

The Good |

  • Budget friendly ($7)
  • Not super drying
  • Pigmented
  • Creamy formula
  • Apply smoothly
  • Transfer proof unless eating
  • Variety of neutrals with different undertones so every skin tone can find something

The Bad |

  • Not a huge range of shades
  • Might be too sticky/tacky for some people
  • Can accentuate lip lines

The formula of these lippies when being applied reminds me a little of the Stila liquid lipsticks because they’re nice and creamy, but the NYX liquid lipsticks aren’t as wet or messy. The formula is actually more creamy and velvety rather than liquidy (like ColourPop) so they’re not that drying on the lips, but they can accentuate lip lines a bit so make sure your lips are exfoliated, aren’t peeling and are properly moisturized.

They are pigmented, opaque in one swipe, apply smoothly, and dry down to a fully matte finish in about a minute so you do have time to work with them if you make any mistakes. They are quite sticky and tacky once they dry down so they will stick a bit if you press your lips together, but the color doesn’t come off or flake off. Personally, I don’t find the stickiness deterring, but if you don’t like that then you probably won’t like these because the stickiness is noticeable.

Because of the stickiness, these last nicely on the lips, are transfer proof, and tend to only fade or transfer if you eat something oil based. Otherwise, they stay put for a good 5-6 hours on my lips before fading.

This line doesn’t have a huge variety of shades. They’re all pretty sultry shades– hence the “lingerie” aspect. So there are lots of nudes, neutrals and muted tones, which is kind of my jam at the moment, and that’s why I really like this whole range.

The Verdict |

For $7, these liquid lipsticks are really good! Plus, Ulta always has some kind of promotion going on so you can save even more money. If you’re easily turned off by sticky/tacky lipsticks then I would steer clear of these, but if you don’t mind some tackiness, I’d definitely suggest them. If you’re a fan of more muted, neutral tones then I’d also highly recommend these because they have something for every skin tone.

Have you tried these? What’s your favorite liquid lipstick? Let me know in the comments below!
