Anastasia Beverly Hills is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands and when they released their liquid lipsticks ($20 each) I had to get my hands on them. There were three particular shades that really caught my eye so I had to pick them up when I saw them in stock on her website. Continue reading for a review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks!
Pure Hollywood| This is one of the lightest shades in the collection and it’s a nudish beige pink. I think this color would be flattering on a lot of different skin tones. Personally, I do not really like light pink shades very much so I like to warm this up with a nudish lip liner like Stripdown from MAC and it looks gorgeous!
Vamp| The second I saw this lip color, I knew I had to have it, and the name is perfect. This is a deep brownish red shade that is very vampy. it is brown toned so if you did not like Salem by Lime Crime because it was too brown, this would be a great alternative because it has more red in it so it isn’t just stark brown on your lips. I really believe this would look great on every skin tone!
Heathers| Don’t you just love the name of this lipstick? This shade is a deep brick red color that is gorgeous and even though the spring and summer months are on their way, I think I will still be wearing this. This will definitely be perfect for the fall and winter time!
The Good| All of the shades I purchased are extremely opaque and smooth. This is the first time Anastasia has done lip products and I really think she and her daughter hit them out of the park. One swipe of this shade is very opaque and it isn’t patchy or streaky at all. The consistency is thick and creamy at first and then dries completely matte. Also, they do not transfer once they dry on your lips, which is what you want from a liquid lipstick. All three shades lasted around six hours on my lips, even through drinking, but the lighter shade does fade more if you eat with it. The darker shades leave a nice stain on your lips once they fade so if you’re fussy like me and hate reapplying lipstick throughout the day, these will be your friend.
The Bad| Since this is a liquid lipstick that dries matte they are obviously drying, but they are not unbearable or goopy like some can be. Just remember that you should moisturize your lips before and after applying these to make sure your lips do not get extremely chapped. Other than the slightly drying aspect of these liquid lipsticks, I don’t have anything bad to say about them. I just hope they release more shades and become more readily available since they’re exclusive to her website or Macy’s Impulse stores (and Macy’s online). *fingers crossed*
The Verdict| If you love liquid lipsticks, these are some really great quality ones you should pick up! The packaging is beautiful and the formula is really great. They’re around the price of a normal liquid lipstick so they aren’t overly expensive, but they aren’t inexpensive since they still are $20 each. I like the formula of these better than the Stila liquid lipsticks just because they don’t feel really uncomfortable after a while, and I think they apply more creamy at first before they dry matte. The Stila ones are creamy at first too, but they are wetter than these when you first apply it. Also, these are two dollars cheaper and you get .11 oz of product, while you get .10 oz of product with the Stila liquid lipsticks! I’ve done a full review on the Stila liquid lipsticks as well if you’re interested!
