The Review| Too Faced Melted Lipsticks

Too Faced launched a new collection of lipsticks this past year, and many beauty lovers have been raving about them. Too Faced claims these lipsticks have the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigmentation of a liquid lipstick. In my book, that is the perfect lipstick (apart from the whole “shine of a gloss” aspect)! So, of course my lipstick-obsessed-self had to try them out for myself. Though, to my dismay, I only have two in my collection so far: Melted Nude and Melted Ruby.

The Good | The colors are extremely pigmented and glide on easily because of the applicator. Melted Ruby is a gorgeous, you guessed it, ruby red color with a slight pink undertone. I think it would look amazing on you whether you’re fair or dark skinned. Melted Nude is a dark nude color with brown undertones. If you have a medium skin tone, this will be perfect for you because it won’t wash you out or make you look dehydrated. This will also look gorgeous on all of you fair skinned beauties, but just beware that it could be darker on you and a bit more brown toned. If you are darker toned, this could possibly wash you out because it might not have enough of a warm brown tone. Both of these shades dry to a nice matte finish, which allows them to stay on your lips for quite some time. Melted Ruby definitely leaves a nice stain on the lips, but Melted Nude doesn’t really have the same effect. The fact that this is in a squeezable tube makes this lipstick really easy to use. However, don’t get me started on the packaging– it is too cute!

The Bad | Guys, there really isn’t anything bad to say about these lipsticks! The only thing is that you might need to use a lip liner beforehand because they can feather a bit. Plus, it just makes your lips look more clean and sharp. Too Faced claims these have the shine of a gloss, but in my experience they dry down to a creamy matte finish so make sure your lips are nicely exfoliated and moisturized so it doesn’t settle into them. Another “downside” is there aren’t enough shades in this range. I want more! But, other than that, I have no complaints!

The Verdict | If you are a lipstick junkie like me and tend to spend quite a lot bit of money on lippies then you need these in your life! The lipsticks are pigmented and apply very easily, but they aren’t drying like some liquid lipsticks can be. I will definitely be picking up  more shades. Hopefully they add more colors to the range because I definitely need some more!
