*douses face in a mixture of all of these mists rn because it’s v v hot*
It’s always nice to reach for a face mist to perk things up a bit when your face is about ready to melt off. As a kid, I turned to those spray water bottles with a battery operated fan to ease my skin from the scorching heat. Now, I’ve upgraded to an adult-friendly face mist that’s more than just water. What about the rotating fan, you ask? It’s superfluous, but my heart still misses it.
The Best Face Mists To Get You Through a Scorching Summer
the holy grails for moi_
The one that has helped my skin a tone, and impressed me the most because of the amazing ingredients, is the Complex Beauty Afterglow Complexion mist. I can’t ever see myself not repurchasing this because it has such amazing ingredients, and using it regularly as a part of my skincare routine has really helped. Plus, it feels amazing and smells amazing too. It has Vitamin C to help brighten; pineapple and papaya enzymes to improve texture (i.e. why this also helped me with texture), firm, protect from free radicals (!!!! important), and reduce acne/ inflammation; glycolic acid to gently exfoliate; colloidal silver to boost cell recovery and heal since it’s a natural antibiotic; tamanu oil to provide antioxidant properties, help fade blemishes, and moisturize, along with even more amazing ingredients. It’s the perfect addition to any skincare routine, and especially perfect during the hot summer months since it’s so refreshing.
Another face mist that has quickly become one of my favorites thanks to the great ingredients is the Ursa Major Face Tonic. It has ingredients like aloe to soothe and hydrate; witch hazel, a natural astringent with anti inflammatory properties; willow bark extract, a natural BHA, to exfoliate and fight acne; apple, which works as a natural AHA; green tea to protect from free radicals (!! important remember), and much more as well.
_when things need a lil more refreshing
Sometimes, all your skin needs is a little more freshness and nothing super fancy in terms of ingredients. That’s where the Pearlessence face mists come into play. I have three from them– Coconut Water, Coconut Rose Water, and Cucumber Water. I’ll be honest, I picked them up because the bottles are pretty, but they are nice little refreshers on scorching hot days.
keeping it moist_
The great thing about moisturizing face mists is that you don’t need to get your hands dirty to add the moisture back in. Pixi’s Milky Mist* contains hyaluronic acid, a skin conditioning ingredient and a humectant, so it attracts water from the moisture in the air and pulls it into your skin, making it a wonderful moisturizing ingredient. Moisture– whenever and wherever you like it.
The Too Cool For School Aqua Gel Mist* is a unique face mist in my collection thanks to the formula. It has a gel consistency in the bottle, but doesn’t come out chunky when spritzed. It’s actually very fine and lightweight on the skin. It contains hydrolyzed baobab protein, which has conditioning and nourishing properties. It also has rosemary water to calm and heal thanks to it’s natural anti-inflammatory properties.
Kopari’s Coconut Rose Toner* is a smells-like-summer-vaction face mist that also hydrates, and is supposed to tighten up the pores. I can’t vouch for the pore tightening since that’s not something I really struggle with, but I can vouch for the hydration. It contains witch hazel to soothe, calm, and kill bacteria; coconut extract to hydrate and nourish; and rose extract to soothe irritations and redness (great for sunburns!), cleanse, and prevent blemishes.
