I’ve always wanted really thick, long hair, and although I have the length– well, I should say had because I just recently cut off 8 inches– I’m always interested in more thickness, which is why I was excited to try some thickening hair care goodies from Hask.
A little bit about my hair: My hair is pretty thick to begin with, but it’s not as thick as I wish it were. When I had longer hair, it was pretty limp at the roots, and now that my hair is shorter it has some more volume, but it can still use more.
I recently tried their Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Hair Care collection* featuring their shampoo, conditioner and shine treatment, and really enjoyed it because it made my hair nice and silky. So I was happy to try out their Almond Oil Thickening Hair Care collection* featuring a shampoo, conditioner, and Root Thickening Spray.
The Mint Almond Oil shampoo and conditioner smell really amazing and refreshing so I love using it in the morning to help wake me up. They’re free of:
- sulfates
- parabens
- phthalates
- gluten
- drying alcohol
- artificial colors

All three products contain almond oil, which has a high content of omega fatty acids, vitamin E and magnesium so it adds body, volume, and shine to the hair. The Bio3 thickening complex adds thickness to the hair, while peppermint oil invigorates the scalp and promotes hair growth.
Like the Coconut Oil shampoo and conditioner, it’s not heavy or greasy due to the oil so don’t let the words “oil” and “shampoo” deter you because it does cleanse the scalp nicely and isn’t oily.
I find that it really does thicken my hair and add more body to it, which I need. Even when I had long hair it gave my limp hair more body and I could feel that my hair was thicker.
The Mint Almond Oil Root Thickening Spray is also free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors. You can spray this thickener into your roots when your hair is damp or even when it’s dry. It’s not heavy, thick or greasy on the hair so it won’t weigh your hair down. I like to apply it when my hair is dry and just spritz a few sprays into the roots and rub it in then let it dry. It dries pretty quickly on dry hair so you don’t have to worry about your hair getting gunky or staying damp at the roots. Instead, it just adds a nice lift and it has the same pleasant smell as the shampoo and conditioner.

The Verdict |
I really like the Mint Almond Oil collection because it’s very refreshing and thickening. If you want to add body and life back into your hair, while keeping the moisture, then definitely give this a try. I’ve liked both the Monoi Coconut Oil collection and Mint Almond Oil collection products I’ve tried from Hask, and think it’s a great inexpensive hair care brand!
