If you asked me what my favorite liquid highlighter was last year, I would have laughed in your face because I did not believe in the power of a good highlight. However, my collection has grown in the past several months and I have been loving all types of highlighters, whether powders or liquids. So, today I will be sharing with you all my top 5 liquid highlighters.
The reason I have really been loving liquid highlighters lately is because during the winter my skin tends to get extremely dry, and that means powders can sometimes look cakey or emphasize any dry spots I may have. Liquid highlighters tend to work better on drier skin and really give you that glow from within look. Plus, you could mix in some moisturizer if you’re really suffering with some dry spots.
Becca Liquid Highlighters| The first three highlighters I want to mention are all from Becca Cosmetics, which is easily becoming one of my favorite brands. Their products are on the pricey side, but I really think the quality and how much you get is worth it. I was able to pick these liquid highlighters up during Christmas time so they came in a little deluxe sample size pack of three .17 oz bottles for $25. The original sized product is $41, but you get 1.7 oz of product. The shades that came in the pack are Pearl, Opal, and Champagne Gold. Unfortunately, Champagne Gold was limited edition, but the other two are permanent and just as gorgeous. Opal is a golden opal pearl shade while Pearl is more of a white pearl shade. Both add a gorgeous glow to the skin. However, out of the two I do prefer Opal because it flatters medium skin tones more.
NARS Orgasm| Another favorite of mine is a highlighter I purchased a while ago before I even really knew about highlighting. Thus, I didn’t get much use out of it at the time, but now that I know how to use it, I am obsessed. Orgasm is a very infamous shade from NARS, and I understand why. It is a peachy pink shade with subtle golden shimmer that really looks great as a highlight especially if you want something different than the usual gold, champagne, pearl shade.
Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer| This is a fairly new purchase for me, and it is a bronzey golden shade– are you surprised? I love a good bronzey gold glow because it adds warmth and makes your skin look so much better. A little goes a very long way with this product so I will probably have this bottle forever, but I am a-okay with that. During the summer I plan on mixing this with my body moisturizer so my skin looks nice and glowy with a tan.
All of these shades are great because they don’t have large chunks of glitter, which can be a little too 90s for me. Instead, these have a gorgeous sheen to them that looks subtle, but gives you a nice glow.
