What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag| New Year’s Eve Edition

This New Year, I am traveling to Austin to see one of my friends, and I am so excited! Since I will be traveling (well, just driving) I don’t want to pack too much. Plus, I will need more room since I’m going for a few days. For New Year’s Eve we will most probably hit up 6th Street, which is Austin’s most famous street for those of you who don’t know. Last time I went I saw Mclovin! Anywho, I want to do a glam makeup look, but nothing too over the top so here is what I picked for the trip!

NYE Travel Makeup Bag| Bare Minerals Well Rested, Mary Lou-Manizer, MAC Black Grape, Marc Jacobs foundation, MAC Gingerly, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, Essie Wicked, Miss Dior perfume, Velvet Teddy, Sin, Beet, They’re Real mascara, Beauty Blender, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, MAC Prep + Prime highlighter in Light Boost

Eyes| MAC’s Pressed Pigment in Black Grape is a fairly new addition to my collection and it is the perfect shade for New Year’s Eve. It is a silvery lilac glitter eyeshadow that is a bit more unique and fun than just the average silver glittery look. Of course no look is complete without lashes so I will be taking the Benefit They’re Real mascara and Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

Face| For the face I chose my Marc Jacobs Genius Gel foundation since I am trying to finish it up before I purchase another foundation. I like traveling with this over my NARS Sheer Glow foundation because it has a pump so it isn’t messy and travels well. Even though it’s glass, I feel like the packaging is made nicely so if my makeup bag experiences some turbulence, which I doubt it will, it should still be fine.

For concealing and brightening under the eyes I chose my handy dandy twosome: the MAC Prep + Prime highlighter in Light Boost and Bare Minerals Well Rested concealer. I like to apply the highlighter in an upside down triangle under my eyes, blend it out with a BeautyBlender and then set it with the Well Rested loose concealer.

For bronzing up the cheeks I chose my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer since, again, I’m trying to finish it up– sensing a theme here? It isn’t my favorite bronzer, but it is a good one. When I’m traveling I like to choose products that I won’t necessarily cry over if I lose or break them, and this fits into that category for me. For blush, I picked MAC’s Gingerly. This shade is very neutral and goes with so many looks so it’s a good choice when you don’t want your makeup to clash.

I have been loving my Becca highlighters so much lately, but I don’t want to travel with them in case something happens to them. They are quite pricey so I don’t want to risk it. For this reason I chose my Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter from The Balm, which is very glowy and festive for New Year’s Eve. It is very popular and I definitely understand why. It is a slightly golden champagne highlighter, and a little goes a very long way. This shade will be perfect on the face, but also as an inner corner highlight for the eyes.

Lips| Packing lipstick is a bit hard for me because I love lippies so much. However, I was able to narrow it down to a few selections: Sin and Velvet Teddy, which are both lipsticks by MAC, as well as their lip pencil in Beet.

Nails| Lately I have been loving dark nails so I decided to continue on the trend and take Essie’s nail polish in Wicked. It is a dark vampy red nail polish shade that has a creme finish. I purchased this about two weeks ago and it’s one of my favorite shades ever– at least at the moment.

Perfume| Obviously taking a giant bottle of perfume when traveling is not fun, especially if it’s expensive. I got this Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet perfume as a 100 point perk from Sephora and it’s perfect for traveling. The scent is very floral so if you don’t like floral scents you will hate this one.
