Dior Sculpt Blushes

When Dior Releases Contouring Blushes, I Buy Two

I own quite a few contouring products, but I’m always on the hunt for new ones. So when Dior releases contouring blushes, I buy two. The two limited edition shades I picked up are the ones they suggest are better for contouring, while the other two shades in the range are great for “shaping” because they are blushes.

My go to contouring duo is the Marc Jacobs #instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Mirage (review here), but these two contouring duos were just so beautiful that I had to pick them up and see if they would take the place of my beloved.

The Good |

003 Beige claims to be a beige sculpting shade, but it has a pink tone to it so it’s not the best for contouring on my skin tone. It would probably work better on fairer skin tones as a contour powder. For medium- deep skin tones it works best as a blush. The lighter shade in the duo is also slightly pink toned, which I’ve actually been into lately for brightening.

004 Brown on the other hand is better for contouring on medium skin, but even lighter/fair skin tones could use it. This shade looks really dark in the pan, but it’s actually not as intense when applied to the skin, which is why it would work for light to medium skin tones. The lighter shade in this duo is more yellow toned, but it’s very faint so it’s also nice for brightening up the skin.

Both of the contouring shades are smooth, creamy, opaque, and blendable. They are matte, but they aren’t super dry or flat so they look nice on the skin.

The lighter shades aren’t super shimmery or glowy so I wouldn’t call them highlighters. They’re more like illuminating powders since they have a slight shimmer running through them so they’re great for brightening up the parts of the skin you would normally highlight, but these give you a more natural contour/brightened look.

The Verdict |

These contouring blushes are really nice, but they don’t replace my Marc Jacobs Mirage Contour Powder. For the price, you don’t get much product, and the pans are quite small, but overall, these are nice and good quality! I think if you’re looking to splurge on something luxe then one of these is nice because it’s beautiful and looks good on the skin, but I also feel like for the price you could just pick up the Kat Von D Shade Light Contour Palette, which everyone loves so much and is more versatile.

Have you tried these? What’s your favorite contouring product? Let me know in the comments below!
